Other fun things that Kurt
really likes - an admittedly ecletic gathering of odds and ends
You can hear sample from some of these by following the links.
Rodgers:
Victory at Sea / Robert Russell... The soundtrack to the great
TV series. Great music for building warships in particular...
More
Victory at Sea - because sometimes you want to spend more than an hour
building warships...
The
Longest Day: Music From The Classic War Films (Soundtrack Anthology)
This is a great collection of classic war themes, such as the Guns of Navarrone,
Sink the Bismarck, Patton, Battle of Britan, and many more. I enjoy
this CD a lot!
The
Hunt For Red October: Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
A great soundtrack, but leaves you wanting more as it is a bit
short.
Crimson
Tide: Music From The Original Motion Picture - not as good as Red October,
but still a rousing submarine score. If you like the music of Hans
Zimmer, the composer, be sure to check out...
Backdraft:
Music From The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Also by Hans Zimmer, I
like this soundtrack a lot, particularly the main theme. Also, if you
watch the Food Network, you may recognize this music from the TV series Iron
Chef, which uses it as well.
Crimson Pirate: Swashbucklers of the Silver Screen - a collection of themes from Pirate Movies, including the classic, Crimison Pirate! Arrrrrrrrraghhh Captain Blood!
The
Natural (1984 Film) I am not a Randy Newman fan, but listened to this
soundtrack while working at a buddy's shop, and liked it enough to buy it.
Listen to the samples and decide if you will too!
Greatest
Hits John Williams John Williams has written the soundtracks to some
of the most popular movies of recent times - Jaws, Star Wars, Indian Jones,
ET, Jurrasic Park, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and many more.
Here is a sampling of themes from all of these, as well as lesser known
pieces. Great building music!
Star
Trek Astral Symphony A collection of themes from many of the Star
Trek movies, more economical than purchasing them individually while still
getting most of the best tracks.
Round
Up If you like the music from classic westerns, like the Magnificent
Seven or How the West was Won, you will love this CD. It is fantastic!
If you like this CD, you will also certainly enjoy the follow
up....
Happy
Trails Ghost riders in the sky, Duel in the Sun, The Alamo, Mule Train,
The Man who shot Liberty Valance, and many more.
Once
Upon A Time In The West: The Original Soundtrack Recording - Remember
Charles Bronson, Henry Fonda and a Harmonica? Or how about those slashing
guitar riffs, or soaring melody. I like this CD a lot, but admit it's
not for everyone...listen to the samples first
